Eye Allergies and Treatments

Eye allergies can make you feel uncomfortable and frustrated throughout the year, because of the red and irritated symptoms that you are experiencing. The most common symptom is itching, which can vary in severity depending on the person.

Here at Eye Care Solutions, we offer a number of eye allergy treatments to help you experience relief from the discomfort. Typically both eyes are affected, and we’ve found that the best way treat eye-related allergies is to remove exposure to the offending source of the allergy.  Unfortunately, it isn't always possible to get rid of the allergens, so we have other treatment methods that can help to decrease the symptoms.

Causes of Eye Allergies
Allergies can be caused by air-borne particulates, exposure to animals, medications, facial cosmetics, soaps and detergents, or contact lens cleaning products. Eye-related allergies can be treated aggressively in the acute, or short-term phase, in order to quickly turn things around and help you find the relief you need.

Once the immediate symptoms have decreased, then other products are prescribed, which are safer for longer term use if you suffer from chronic eye allergies.

Seasonal Eye Allergies
Many people experience seasonal allergies in the spring or fall months, although the timing can vary depending on the person. For seasonal eye allergies, the best treatment plan is to start treatment at least two weeks before the onset of symptoms. So, we will work with you to take a proactive approach, in order to prevent the symptoms before they begin.

Here at Eye Care Solutions, we are dedicated to your eye health!
